I know that the world is a scary place right now, it's our job to work together to make the best of it because it's what we've been given and we have to make the best of it. All that matters is you knowing that you're worth it. You're beautiful, so many people love and adore you and there's not one reason in the world to think badly of yourself. You're special. Despite how frightening everything is right now, you are the person who can make the difference. You can make the world a better place for yourself and everyone around you just by being yourself. This is cheesy, I know- but it's true. I have struggled my entire life with my body image, my sexuality, my ethnicity, my self esteem, and so much more but I have learned that just because I don't see much in myself doesn't mean that someone else doesn't. Just because some person doesn't want to be with you doesn't mean all hope is lost. You're everything that someone out there is looking for, and you don't need to be beating yourself up because you weren't "good enough" for someone who couldn't see the best of you, who couldn't love you as much as you wanted, who you couldn't make happy. That person is out there.
We're all young, we make mistakes- and we learn from those mistakes. 2017 most likely, for me at least, will not be an easy year. It will most likely be full of violence, injustice, and discrimination- but you need to keep the faith, because despite what it may seem like- it will get better. In 10 years time, you'll look back to 2016 and think about how it made you so much stronger, having to overcome the obstacles and hurdles it threw at you. I will continue to stand up for everyone who is discriminated against because of their religion, sexuality, gender, race, financial situation, or any other scenario where they don't fit into the "normal." The world is not an easy place, but it gets a little bit better when you can share your time here with people you love. For the past few years of my life, I have spoken out against inequality and injustice against people everywhere and I am prepared to continue to do that for the rest of my life, or at least until we are all treated equally. Just because you are different doesn't mean someone doesn't love you. There's someone out there who absolutely adores the things that you hate most about yourself.
We're all warriors, we all have our battle scars- whether that be fighting with other people or ourselves, whether it be a mental fight or a physical fight, whether those scars are deep or light- we all have them. They all made us who we are today, and have made us stronger than we would be if we didn't have them. In 2016, I had my first heartbreak. It was hard, yeah- but since then I have learned to overcome that and focus more on loving myself than another person. You don't need someone else to make you happy. Just because you think you're pretty doesn't make you conceited or self centered. Just because you don't like how you look doesn't mean that you're feeling bad for yourself or looking for attention. Just because someone makes fun of you for something that's different about you, doesn't mean that you're not beautiful.
Words are like knives, they could kill you, they could cut you, they could scare you- it's just how you interpret them. I want to propose a resolution for 2017 for everyone, throughout the course of 2017- no matter how hard it is, how much it hurts you, how much you want to give up- don't lose faith in yourself. Please don't give up, you're worth it. Believe me. If you ever need something, PLEASE message me. I love to help out with problems, I love seeing people happy and will do anything to make sure that you're doing okay. I love you.
Happy New Year.
