CHAPTER 3: I’m no good without you.
“Yea, Luke. For The Fifth Time, I’m ‘Okay’” Tristan repeated while covering all of the scars and bruises. “Mkay..” Luke said, “I’m just looking out for you bro!” “Yes I know, and I’m thankful for that, but PLEASE let me do my own thing. It’s bad enough that my parents were too ‘busy’ to come and fetch me, and now, my best friend is taking over my mother’s role!” Tristan yelled out loud. Luke was shocked. He and Tristan never EVER had a fight, why now? “Look, I’m sorry, things are difficult now.. I just feel odd and left out… Alone.” Tristan said. “Awhh.. Man! You’ll never be alone, trust me, I’ll always be there.” Luke said while softly punching Tristan in the arm. The Sun setted and it started going dark.

The two boys headed towards Tristan’s home. It looked like a mansion from outside. A huge dark oak door with a fountain in front of the house. A tennis court next to it and their back yard seemed like a golf course. They entered the front door and ran to the kitchen. Grabbed a 2l Coca-Cola bottle and a bag of chips. The boys were such in a hurry they left the cabinet doors open. Which didn’t bother them because it was just them, no parents, no siblings, no one, just them. Luke searched for Tristan’s new video game: ‘Zom-Die Episode 11’ “Dude, You wanna play?” Luke Asked while handing him the controller. Tristan shook his head. You could see he wasn’t in the mood for company.

Hours went by and they were still doing nothing. Well, except Luke, he broke the record but that’s not the point. “Dude, I can see you’re down.. Talk to me bro!” Luke said. Tristan stared at him. “I-Is it about what happened at the school?” Luke asked. Tristan didn’t answer. “How the heck am I, YOUR BEST FRIEND, supposed to cheer you up if you won’t even tell me what’s wrong! Now tell me!” Luke demanded. “Fine, you want to know? Well here it is.. I’m jealous!” Tristan yelled. “Jelalous? Of what? You literally have everything. A mansion, an indoor swimming pool.. Butlers and maids waiting for orders just as you please. What more could a kid want?!” He said. “A Family Luke, it was so embarrassing when the principal called in all our parents yet mine didn’t show. They were too “busy”. They never come home and I literally have to raise myself.” Tristan replied with a tear appearing from his eye. Luke just stood there. He didn’t know what to do. Tristan stared outside his bedroom window. If only he was a different person..
About ten minutes have passed and he realised something odd. “Luke, what’s that in the sky?” Tristan asked while pointing towards a round object. It looked like a planet. “Brah, it’s Venus. Haven’t you learned anything in science?” Luke explained. “No, but I know it’s not supposed to be this close to Earth.” Tristan replied. “Dude, it’s probably just a new eclipse or something. The Venus Eclipse.” Luke said excitedly. There’s nothing the two boys can’t do right now.
It was about 2AM and Luke had to leave. Tristan laid in his bed, wondering about the planet. Wondering what will happen. Wondering who or what caused it, but he slowly drift fast asleep..
