Hey there! You clicked on this to find out if you’re eligible for staff - well, in a manner of speaking.
I’ll be discussing some tips you might need in order to become a great staff member! Well, hopefully my tips can help you become that.
Applying for helper.
Click here for an actual thread about it.
Make sure you add as much detail as possible - don’t go off topic, as that shows quite unprofessional work.
Be as truthful as possible. (DON’T LIE!)
Elaborate and express why you really want to help the network and why you’ll make a good addition to the team.
Don’t get angry if you’re denied, that just shows incapability of improvement and you disagree with ‘professional’ actions. If your denied ask why.
General tips on Moderating.
When someone needs your help and they can’t clearly clarify the issue, be patient with them and don’t get stressed, that shows that you’re uninterested in helping people whatsoever and only want to be staff for the popularity/rank.
Be fairly active on the Network and let yourself get well known in the community. It’s best that almost everyone can feel comfortable around you and know you’re approachable, that way there’s no issues when asking for help.
Always try your hardest to help - Your job is to help players and try your hardest to assist anyone in need.
Remember, you don’t have to spend 24/7 on the Network, regular breaks are common - however if you’re gone in over a week or so without telling anyone the reason you will be warned about your inactivity.
Using your own judgement for punishments can be difficult, usually you can refer to what other Staff members do, for example; someone curses multiple times in one sentence even after a warning, would you mute them for a longer time duration due to excessive cussing? That’s up to you.
Teamspeak tips.
Yes, I know it’s hard to act ‘formal’ when around your friends, but try do so. It’s not very professional to give that sort of impression on the users.
If someone says your name, please reply. It’s not friendly to avoid them and prevent yourself from helping others.
Don’t overdo the punishments, and don’t ‘threaten’ anyone, e.g. “If you don’t stop singing I will ban you!” etc.
Forum tips.
When replying on threads try be useful and on topic. It’s not very professional to lead the original topic to something else, e.g. “Creative needs more slots!” All the comments have relevance, then yours; “I think there should be more Murder games available.” See what I mean?
When reading someone’s question, make sure you actually know the answer, rather than leaking information you think is correct but may actually be false. If possible AND necessary, provide proof of the actual answer.
Thanks for reading my quite pathetic tips on being/becoming a staff member xD Hope I helped in any way, good bye
EDIT: Thank you to the Staff who re-made the thread/edited the info due to reasons, it's much appreciated.
