PartyZone App Idea?

Hey!

I had a brilliant idea this morning, when I woke up.

PartyZone should have an app!

Not like an app with games or anything, but like an app that connects to the forum, and possible a live chat?

Good Idea?

Well if you are logging on to the forums through an apple/iOS device you can have the PartyZone forums as an app on your screen. Overall an app just for the forums would pointless, it wouldn't make any difference.

I have the "app" on my phone, just it's harder to access and I can't change my avatar, and I was thinking getting real time notifications or something instead of having to be on the browser and checking

While this could be good, I'm pretty sure apps cost a lot of money to create and get added to the App Store. As for live chat, there's a 'status' area where you can read statuses, but that's about it. Also, there would still probably have to be some way for PZ to benefit off of it.

Designing and creating an app does cost a fair amount of money, I do agree, but in the end, it will all play out as many people will most likely download it (as it will be more efficient than the web browser on many devices). Also, donations towards the server (and possibly some towards the app for a special prize or something) could balance out cost issues.

This would really help me out as I use my phone a lot and Party Zone is a website I've started to use daily, so it'd be nice if I could easily access the website. But I do use a mac and don't really see a point besides when I am on my phone. Grand idea though! Wouldn't mind at all if it was implemented.

I use my phone for a lot of things as well, as my computer runs very slowly. I normally use my phone for checking websites and such, so that's how I came up with the idea. The app I was thinking would be more compatible with iPhones/iPods/iPads and Andriod devices than Macs.

Correction, it's $100 a year to keep an app on the AppStore. I already looked into a lot of the costs ahead of time, and it wouldn't cost all that much, since we already have formats and designs on the website, it can be transferred over to an app quite easily.

This costs a lot of money and plus it's useless... you can use your Phone browser.

It's not useless. The phone browser I currently use (safari) is a little challenging to use. I can't change my profile picture and a lot of things I try to do have an error (i.e changing profile pictures, changing your nickname option is hard to find, etc).
