Ok, I know a staff member answered this already, but when I try and post a picture on my signature, I post a comment and it shows the Mountains with the Sun, with a big red ex on it...then I see other people have full-on pictures.

Depending on the link you use, it may turn out that it can't be used. The best way is to either save the picture and upload it to imgur.com and use the direct link to put the image in, or copy the link and upload it to imgur likewise.
