If you've played Watch Dog's DLC, you'll notice in a part that Ray is framed for 11 deaths in a blackout caused by Defalt. Ray kills a Defalt member and escapes. However, Watch Dogs takes place in Chicago. So could this mean that Ray moved? In Watch Dogs 2, however, we see the masked people with Defalt's mask in the operation, "Rodentia Academy", and you shut them down. Ray is met at the Swelter Skelter Festival after you beat the dragon-thingy, and then Sitara invites Ray to join DedSec and Ray accepts, because he might've flashed back to the 11 deaths, so he wanted to keep anonymous? But, In Watch Dogs, Ray tells Chicago that he was not responsible for the deaths, but Defalt had enough "Proof" to frame him. So could this mean Ray had to leave Chicago in order to evade arrest? Maybe he wanted to escape Defalt, but it so happens Defalt is in San Francisco, Ray talks nervously on the channel during Rodentia Academy, so this could link it to Chicago. In Watch Dogs, when Ray was being hit with the toxin, there were Defalt fans watching, and some of them were in recognizable places in Watch Dogs 2, however, all of them are inside, but the buildings are shaped alike. Therefore, Ray probably moved to San Francisco in attempt to avoid Defalt, but the Defalt fans were there, so Ray is basically a criminal, like Marcus. So this may be the reason Ray joins DedSec in order to avoid Defalt, as Defalt is probably searching for him. Ray hasn't shown his face to the public ever since he joined DedSec, so could this mean Ray is a framed criminal? Defalt has much in common with Prime_Eight, and they look like they hate Marcus the same as Ray. Prime_Eight may be Defalt in disguise, but we're not sure of it. Prime_Eight is the enemy of DedSec before and after Ray joins. But why could this be? Prime_Eight has a tiny bit of interference with DedSec before Ray joins. But, online, Prime_Eight is the enemy. Could this mean Ray's linked to the Online games and Story? It might be true! Ray tries to act calm during a Hacking Invasion introduction, this could mean that Prime_Eight is Defalt and Ray knows it. Ray doesn't tell anybody his backstory, but if you talk to him in the Hackerspace, he says he left "Kenney" in the desert. Does this mean why Ray hacked his ctOS profile? Did he make up a fake ID to throw Prime_Eight a trap? Ray probably wants Prime_Eight on the ropes! During Hacker Wars, Lenni associates with Prime_Eight to create a trap for Sons of Ragnarok. Marcus falls for it, and he has to defuse the bomb. Prime_Eight is frustrated with the removal of their bunker to DedSec, and Online activities against Prime_Eight appear more frequently. Showd0wn is a common one. So finally, as a conclusion, Ray moved to San Francisco to hack ctOS 2.0 to change his ID, and to throw Defalt (Prime_Eight) onto the ropes.
