How are God/OP items actually made in creative?

I don't want to sound mean, but the staff never answer this question in game when I ask them.

God/OP Items are typically created through hacked/modded clients, and are distributed through “item shops”. There is also a way to use certain meta editing softwares (like NBT editor and MCEdit) and using the save inventory settings in the later versions of minecraft to bring it into creative.
