There I was. Running from the villagers chasing me. Well, I guess I deserved to be chased. I did steal some of their crops. Okay, all of their crops. My village needs them more. My name is Blake.I’m 18. I don’t know my last name. No one ever told me. I jumped the fence into my backyard and the villagers were 10 feet away from me. If you couldn’t already tell, I’m super fast. And I’m a dedicated law breaker. To my village I’m called “The Savior”. To the others, I am “The Runner”. They both suit me. I made it inside my house and went out the front door screaming, “Dinner! Everybody up!”. Everyone came out of their houses and came to greet me. I set up the giant pot and made everyone carrot and potato soup. It the only thing I know how to make. And I’m the only cook in our village. And medic, and baker, and archer, and hunter. I do everything around here.
Nothing ever happens here. Same thing every day. It’s just me and Shadow. In case you’re wondering, Shadow is my wolf. He’s a huge gray wolf with black paws. We do everything together. He’s my best friend. “Sup Blake?” A boy said from about 2 feet away.
“What do you want Bellamy?”
“Just wondering what you’re up to.” Bellamy is about my age. He has green eyes compared to my blue ones and much lighter hair compared to my chocolate brown hair with aqua blue ends that match my eyes. “I’m up to nothing. Wanna go to the woods with me and Shadow?”
“Sure. I could learn to hunt. Oh, wait. I already know how.”
“Yeah,Yeah,Yeah. Let’s go.” I forgot to mention, there’s one other hunter here. And it’s Bellamy. Ever since I got here I can tell that he likes me. He’s not discrete. He gets all giddy when we’re together. It’s actually kinda cute.
“Do you hear that?” I asked once we were a good 20 yards into the forest.
“Hear what?”
“You seriously don’t hear that? It’s so loud.”
“I think you’re going crazy.”
“I’m not crazy. Look over there.” And I pointed towards a clearing and Bellamy finally heard it as it got closer to us.
“Bellamy, we have to run.”
“I can’t outrun that thing. You know it.”
He was right. I knew he couldn’t run that fast. But is it worth revealing my secret to save him? My answer. Yes.
“Bellamy, I’m about to do something that you can NEVER tell anyone about. Okay?”
“Sure. But just a fair warning that things getting closer.”
“Okay. Grab my hand.”
“Damn Blake. I don’t think it’s time for hand holding.”
“Oh shut up! Hold on tight.” I un folded my wings and we flew. I brought him to the tallest tree and sat him down. “Stay here.” I told him
“Yeah,Sure.” He responded while staring at my wings. I flew back down and took out my bow. I aimed at the thing that had just started charging at me and shot it. First, in the eye. Then in the heart. I took a good look at it before I went back for Bellamy. The thing was a hybrid of what looked like a bear and something else. "They're creating new creatures" I thought. I saw a small blinking light from inside the beasts heart. A tracker. They found me.
