Our topic today; memes. And if you think that I just made this up on the fly, I'm sure there's images somewhere on the internet. You're just going to have to look really hard. Probably on the freaking dark web or some crap. It all started at my local Dairy Queen. (Flashback. WOOSH.)
Me and my buddies were taking a stroll to DQ after some hard work at band practice that fine Saturday morning. We decided to grab some lunch since we we're going to head to the range after.
(For the purpose of this story, I'm going to change the names of my friends. Also, this probably isn't exactly what they said.)
We had just arrived at DQ.
Catwillow: Man, should I get the Deluxe Cheezburger, or the Chicken Strips...?
Me: Follow your gut. And btw, you have 6 dollars. You can only afford a Blizzard.
Catwillow: Crap.
I went up to the cashier and accidentally ordered the Cheeseburger combo, instead of the deluxe Cheeseburger combo. I low-key said that they forgot my sundae coupon and they gave me one for free. The meal was now 30 cents cheaper. I headed to the seating area, and dumped my stuff in a booth.
Catwillow came up to me with a full meal, chicken strips, a medium cookie dough blizzard; the works.
Catwillow: Hai~!
Me: Wtf, how'd you get that?
Catwillow: My sister works here.
Just then Plant comes up to us with his onion rings and large blizzard.
Catwillow: So. We're staying here until 1:30 right?
It was about 12:15pm at the time.
Me: I dunno, sure I guess.
Plant: If we're staying here for an hour, what are we gonna do?
Crickets.
We all pull out our phones and start snapchatting the retina's out of our eyes.
Plant ligns up his drink with his large blizzard and takes a photo.
Me: Enjoying your Starbucks mate?
Catwillow. Ffs Chicken, frick off.
Okay. This is what our society has come to.
I take out my phone again, snap a photo of my DQ cup, and type in "Starbux."
I line it up so it covers the DQ sign.
Me: Heh.
I then posted it.
Plant and Catwillow immediately saw what I did on their SC accounts.
Catwillow: WTF.
Plant. Dude.
We started taking photos of literally everything that had the words DAIRY QUEEN on it, and covered it up with 'Starbux.'
