Ocean sighed, looking through the mirror. She put her bright blonde hair in a ponytail, and her blue eyes were shimmering. Ocean got up, and went downstairs to eat breakfast.

After breakfast Ocean walked outside. The sun was just rising. Today was Wednesday, the day she went over to her friend's house. Rachel. She lived across the street, in a big, beautiful house. On her way there, Ocean pulled out her iPhone. "Looks like it might rain today.." Ocean mumbled, looking at the sky. "Ocean!" said someone, in the distance. "Rachel..?" She said. What's Rachel doing out here? I was suppose to come after I went to the market. "Ocean! Look what I found on the internet!" She yelled, sprinting towards her. When Rachel had finally reached Ocean, she slammed her phone onto Ocean's hand. "Read it!" She said, half panting. The title of the paragraph. The Eighth Day it said. Ocean already knew what this was about. "There's no such thing as an eighth day of the week. Now, let me go to the market and get some food, and then I'll meet you at your house. Ok?"
"Thanks!" Ocean yelled back at the cashier, dropping the change into her bag. She immediately headed towards Rachel's house. I still can't believe Rachel believes in The Eighth Day. There has always been seven days in a week. Ocean walked up to Rachel's door, and knocked. A few seconds later, Ocean saw Rachel open the door. "Hi, Rachel." Ocean said. "Hey, Ocean," Rachel replied. "Come on in."
They spent hours watching movies at Rachel's house, having fun. Finally, around 10:00 Ocean asked, "Why do you believe in the Eighth Day, anyway?" Ocean asked. It had been a couple seconds before she said, "I just do. Sometimes, I feel like there's someone living in my house on The Eighth Day. When I wake up, sometimes my phone will be on the floor, or on my lamp when I didn't put it there. I just have that feeling." Ocean was surprised at her answer, but didn't ask anything else about The Eighth Day. "So, am I staying over here tonight?" Ocean asked, trying to change the subject. "Yes,"-and she yawned as she said this-"I'm tired, let's go get sleep." Ocean immediately agreed, as Ocean got in a one of Rachel's old sleeping bags, and fell asleep.
Ocean woke up with a tired yawn, and almost fell back asleep when she realized that Rachel wasn't on the couch, either asleep or watching the television. Ocean got up and started to look around the house. She felt like this house was empty, and no life was in it except her. "Rachel?" Ocean shouted, but low enough that her parents couldn't hear. Ocean look around in the kitchen. "I'm surprised she's not eating breakfast. It's...7! We need to go to school!" Ocean realized. "Where is Rachel and her parents?" She mumbled to herself. She ran upstairs to wake up her Rachel's parents, but found the bed empty. Ocean decided that nobody was here. There was nobody answering, and the house felt empty and lonely. She ran outside, and no cars were on the street. The sky looked pink, though. Something weird has happened. Oh no, Ocean thought. It's an apocalypse. "There has to be something here.." And Ocean looked towards a little Super Market at the end of the street. If I'm gonna survive, I'm gonna need something to let me live. She ran back into Rachel's house, and found a little kitchen spoon, for mixing. It wasn't very good, but It would probably do well. Ocean stole Rachel's bike, which was parked next to the garage, and headed full speed to the market. Ocean jumped off her back, which rammed into a car, and got the spoon. She started banging at the windows, until finally it broke. She started to hit the glass shards that were still stuck on the window off, and quickly jumped into the store. She grabbed a bunch of food. She grabbed more of canned food, and some waters. She put the items into a shopping cart. She quickly zoomed down the street, toward her own house. On her way, she expected something to pop out of the bushes, or out of the tree or building. Nothing appeared, not animals, or even insects. She finally got to her house, panting. She looked around, and still no sign of life. She pulled the mat up, and grabbed the house key. She unlocked the door and put the shopping cart in her basement, while she quickly put the stolen items in the pantry, and the fridge. She went over to the couch, and collapsed. Where have they all gone? Ocean thought. She panted as her eyes got heavy, and soon she was asleep.
