<Prologue> Amina was getting ready for her average day of high school when she heard a -BUZZZZ- come from her phone. "Shoot, I forgot to take a shower..." She ignored it and finished getting ready. Another loud -BUZZZZ- came from not her phone, but her front door near the living room. Again, Amina ignored the noise and headed out for school with her earphones in, assuming it was her sister's phone or iPad or something dumb like that. Walking down the road was really hard because she was thinking about the kid she had a major secret crush on, and his name was Cooper Deacon. People always made fun of him for being shy, but she likes that about Cooper, and she wants to defend him.
Later, at school...
When Amina stepped into Westboro Community High School that crisp spring morning, she saw her friend Spencer sitting near the entryway on a park bench. Amina went over to say hello to her.
"Hey, Spencer!" Amina said gleefully
Spencer had no response.
"Spence? Come on, I know your there SOMEWHERE!"
Amina still heard nothing, so she gathered her things and went to her first classes of the day. She could barely concentrate over the kid sitting across from her, Cooper. He was the smartest kid in the entire school. She loved him.
Amina needed to find out what was up and what exactly made him so "cool..." Amina must have been staring for too long because of all of a sudden, Amina heard the teacher at the front of the class yell "AMINA!" and she was suddenly ghost-pale. She's never been called out in front of the class before. "I-I'm sorry, m-ma'am, I won't do it again..I zoned out or something again, I'm really sorry."
Lunchtime...
Amina went back to the bench Spencer was at earlier that morning, and she was terrified because Spencer was still there! She felt like she needed to call 911, but she had to check for a pulse or something to make sure she wasn't just asleep. Knowing she had 5 minutes for lunch, she tried to wake up Spencer instead of eating her lunch. She could always eat at home anyways, right?
Spencer was, get this, unconscious. She speed-dialed 911 as fast as she could.
1 week later...
Amina was still trying to handle going to her best friend's death as she and her family were on their way to Spencer's funeral. Oh, by the way, Spencer had suffered a heart attack early that morning and it was too late by the time Amina had arrived. Everyone at Westboro Community High School was there. Even Cooper Deacon was there, hanging his head in sadness. The funeral consisted of 3 of Spencer friends, Amina, Miya, and Rachel. Amina wasn't familiar with the other two girls, but they seemed interesting to her. Especially Rachel...something was different about her. She felt attracted to her for some odd reason. She never thought it was her bisexuality, but apparently, it was.
