(So I decided to write a story as well. This isn't supposed to be a really serious story or anything, just something fun and quirky I decided to write. Hope you like it.)
Rena looked up from the map she was observing for the past forty minutes. She rolled it up and tossed it in a corner of the old warehouse, the slight thump echoing throughout the abandoned building. Rena wiped at her brow, as she began to sweat. It was the middle of June, and the summer heat was brutal. Everyone was sweating, and Rena hates sweat. She stands up and brushes some of the excess dust off her jeans and looks back at her group, all sitting around in a circle, not saying much. Bheryl was counting out food rations, brushing some lilac hair from her face. Her boyfriend, Zanyas, huddled close to her, despite the intense heat of the summer air. One of the younger members, Mine, sits in a corner, with a faraway look in his eyes. Rena remembers that stare, as it was the face he wore when the group found him in an abandoned house. They later figured out that it was due to shock from not having wi-fi anymore. He's gotten better at recovering, but he still has his moments. Emoh, the newest member, sticks close to Mine, as they've gotten close over the few weeks they've been together. Rena shakes her head slightly and sits down next to Emoh.
"There's a convenient store a couple blocks from this warehouse. Let's just hope it's not raided." She says. Emoh nods, and then wipes a bit of sweat from his face. He then grins, and pokes Rena with his finger. She shrieks and smacks his hand away. "No sweat!"
"Guys quit bothering Rena. You don't want her to get out the metal bat again." Bheryl said, not looking up from her small clipboard.
"I still have the bruise..." Emoh mutters, rubbing his left arm. Rena snickers, and then clears her throat.
"Well we better get ready for a trek outside guys. Food is low, so we gotta find that convenient store. And this place is probably crawling with Infecteds." She says, and the others nod. Rena stands up and grabs her metal bat resting on a large pillar, and puts it over her shoulder. "Right then. This should be fun."
