Summer Poetry Contest Submissions

Rules​
  • You must have written and own the poem/song
  • No topics may be included in your poem/song that are against our Forum/Server rules
  • Stick to the themes, feel free to adapt them as you like, but the general idea should be similar.
  • Only one submission per player and only one player may write each submission
  • The poem/song must have been written between August 1st and 15th
  • You may not plagiarize another player or writer's work, or make it too similar to one another
  • You may not submit an entry for a friend, or enter multiple times
  • Of course, all PartyZone rules apply.
Failure to follow these rules will result in immediate disqualification from the competition.

Many lives are changed by PeeZee
Many friends are made from PeeZee
How easy would our world be
Without the server called PeeZee

Who would we, have never met
The friends who help, when we're upset
The family of staff I call home
Even if to far I roam

The twilight twinkles, and I grow old
But the friends ive made, make me bold
They don't even know, how much I care
I think of them, when I brush my hair

When something happens, I find funny
I'll share it with my PeeZee family
They are part of me, and the person I am
They are family, to this old man.

I see the sun begin to shine,
Rolling the window down,
Letting the sun shine through
We quickly open the door,
And run out onto the sand,
We sprint across the beach,
Like theres no shells,
That are hurting our feet,
As the sun, Shines down on us
On us,

As the sun shines down on us,
Till it fades away.
Oh, Till it Fades away
So Goodbye Summer
And Hello Memories.

We, Run down to the shore
And step into the sea,
Laughing and Shivering,
Cause it's so cold,
But that's okay,
First one to dive in
We're soaking
But That's okay,
It doesn't matter anyway
And we are Falling, Falling, Falling,
Into the sea..
And as we float to the surface,
The sun shines on us,
On us,

As the sun shines down on us,
Till it fades away.

And we get into the car,
Covered in sand
As the sun goes down
But we have the pictures,
The memories,
And the sand covering the car..
That'll stay there for weeks..
And we have lost our light
As we drift into Autumn.

Poem/Song:
Summer's Goodbye,


It took ten years, of love and joy,
For Summer's eyes to close in her sleep,
Though love does one well leaving your boy is a long weap,
A strong mother taking the leap,
Into Death's pale arms, for a forever sleep.

Thirty-two years ago Summer gave up her vacation to bring a child to life,
Given birth to Winter, a boy of frost bite.
Summer watched her boy grown from the distance,
She loved him, though it wasn't right,
Trying to ignore the resistance from the distance. Goodbye Summer.

When born, Winter left without a trace,
And it broke her heart, to think of his face.

The day she got cancer he was twenty-two,
the life of her dancing heart has ended.
The day of the sun has ended. May the leaves start to fall and wind of ice spread over Summer's heart.

As she lay on her bed at the age of 48,
Autumn lay beside her crying their eyes out, knowning they would be incharge next not wanting to see the light.
Spring held their mother's hand as they let the tears fall.

A knock on the door and heart beat fast,
As through the war, a boy came through at last.

Summer looked at her son, who held a plane ticket, looking hopeful and sad. Winter gazed at his young mother and her two children beside her.

A soft sunny breath across the beach,
The hum of the flies across the meadows,
An evening alive due to the glow of the undying sun,
The baby blue sky that shines too bright,
The cloudless nights to see the lights of the sky.

A cold whoosh of air, the leaves start to fall, the frost spreading over the town like the common cold.
The grass once brown now turning green once more. Goodbye Summer.

For Summer's Goodbye is now no longer a lie,
Spring cried with Autumn by their side.
Winter watched as his mother's chest grew and fell,
She took her last breath looking at her boy.

"Goodbye Summer" with a weep.

Poem/Song:
I watched with glee, the sun on another joyous day.
A blood red ball, it climbed to the sky, chasing shadows on its way.
The trees were green, the flowers bloomed, and the birds sang across the land.
But as I watched, the feeling grew, summer's end was close at hand.
Those months have past since that happy day, when school had closed and past.
We were free to roam, enjoy our youth, making friendships sure to last.
Each summer day seemed endless, the nights too were bright.
Showers of rain, when they would fall, landed softly, warm and light.
But now the days grow shorter, dark nights are closing in.
Those warm bright days are fading, and autumn starts to win.
So now we say goodbye to summer, although we know all will be fine.
Though the years they pass, and we grow old, the sun will always shine.

POEM/SONG:
A plane ticket alone in the hot beach sun

What I was expecting was just pure fun

With the hotel walls I saw full of plaster

Little did I know I was in for disaster.


The beach of yellow sand, and the sea of blue

The troubles beneath are harmful to you

But that doesn’t matter, with time in the sun

And all that matters is having some fun!


I sat in the shade with my iced tea at hand,

Looking at the children playing in the sand

Some were quite tan, but others quite red

Not enough sunscreen, so tears I saw shed.


The adults in the area were a sight to behold

From show-offs to laid back tanners of old

Their tans grew dark, just how they wished

As they fought over selfies among the bright fish


And the attractions there were great to see!

Through snorkeling, guides and the great Manatee

But from sunburns gained, and sweaty gross feet,

The standards of a holiday, this did not meet.


Time to say farewell to the fun in the sand,

Back to my home, by comparison bland.

But at least I have my friend’s by my side,

And the memories gained, I will keep with pride.

PROMPT: Goodbye Summer
POEM/SONG:
Standing still as if made of stone,
The dreading feeling of being all alone,
For joys of summer, fall will atone,
'Summer is ending,' came out in a groan.

As more days passed, the daytime time lessened,
With each chilly breeze, I felt more threatened,
'Why must it end?' I often questioned,
The ending of summer felt increasingly destined.

Before it's over, I must reflect,
On all the memories that I did collect,
Each of the moments, I shall dissect,
The most joyous one, I will select.

Late June, early summer,
I had a day that was like no other,
Out on the beach came a newcomer,
I spent that day hanging with my lover.

For hours we played in the sand,
Having so much fun, joined hand in hand,
Could've been longer, though it was grand,
Time has passed, yet we still withstand.

Though things have changed, we still withstood,
Although it's different, maybe even summer could,
Not the weather, but the peace and good,
It'll be tough, but I think it should.

Like the tides, summer is rolling out,
It's sad, but school will soon sprout,
Just the thought makes me want to pout,
Having time to relax is something that I doubt.

With summer fall, brings Autumn rise,
Forced to watch the truth, as each server dies,
Though sad it is, we face demise,
Getting sadder and sadder as we say our goodbyes.

Yet again, we face the truth,
As with every year, we lose our youth,
In reality though, it's like a tooth,
We'll be back, due to time's uncouth.

Soon enough, although it's sore,
We'll be on buses, riding back for more,
Unending lectures that will make us bore,
Nine months later, we will restore.

Fall is soon, you know it's true,
We'll be back though, it's nothing new,
But first here's something we know is due,
Goodbye summer, we give our thanks to you!
