So it's nothing too big.
I'm aware that the moderators deal with spam bots who advertise unwanted products anyway, but they always wait until the moderators and other staff aren't online on the forums.
So I'm suggesting that there's something done to prevent this.
My suggestion is that new users must have 3-5 posts APPROVED by moderators, since spambots tend to only post advertisements, which moderators wouldn't approve of. (I know I say "moderators", but I actually mean the whole staff team, just used to saying mods oof) It's quite easy to approve posts and with how decent the staff here are, posts will be approved fairly quickly.
It may take a wee bit of extra time for mods, but it can stop the bots flooding at the time they usually do.

They would still get away with it, wouldn't they? How about a way that new accounts have to wait x about of time, and they can only post in the Questions and Bug Reports section, unless they link their account?

Maybe for a simpler way, could we have it that have human verification to make sure it's not a bot?

Pft, why would we go for something simple?

No they wouldn't, since only staff can see unapproved posts.

Ya see... If we did that... Then I wouldn't have been able to post this...

Human verification sounds loads easier, simple, and faster. 100% +1 to that.

Human verification seems sensible. Registering a new account could include a CAPTCHA.

I agree!

Maybe blocking all posts that look like a Link for a title?

Just a little bit more added protection for the spam bots. (Aka it has like 'www .' 'and //djisanfjds/help_save_money.___'

Good point, since an ordinary person wouldn't be like "ww . youtube.com" in a title they'd literally post it on the thread

There is a new one and it’s got colour and everything

They're getting smarter!

This definitely needs to be implemented. But if you see one, don't reply to it. It bumps it up, meaning more people will see it.
