According to a Cornell publication, the answer is 700 pounds. Compared to beavers, groundhogs/woodchucks are not adept at moving timber, although some will chew wood.

I was playing pokemon, I was 9 and I had recently got a PS3 and had to think of a name, and ya know alakazam, he was my favourite Pokemon at the time, so I looked at him and said "He has two golden spoons!" And thats how I got my name
