The vote got overwhelming majority, so here is part two! enjoy!
(P.S - In case you didn't know because I didn't until earlier requisition is basically an army or a government taking everyone's stuff for a war or something.)

"Three... Two... One... GO!" I shouted out, but the last of my voice was overshadowed by a horrifyingly loud alarm. A panic alarm. I sighed angrily as the familiar sound pierced my eardrums.
Astro, Kona, Meepy and me all looked at each other with exasperation. We had all heard that sound, many, many times before.

It was the Requisition Alarm. It went off everywhere. In every town, village and city in the world, every few months, the Requisition Alarm would go off. At least that was what we were supposed to call it because it made the horrible things they do sound reasonable with a smart sounding word, but everyone knows that that isnt the case. They just bang down our doors and take everything we own for "Paying for weapons" an absolutely ridiculous lie. They have just become overtaken by greed and power, while we all cower in misery. I looked at the others sadly. "Looks like the race will have to wait, sorry guys." I said sadly. "Its fine," Meepy said. "Nothing can be done about it, lets just get back before they get to the house, we have to be there for the Registration after all." "Okay, lets go." I sighed.

"Hey Moon, do you mind taking the bow back to the usual hiding place?" asked Kona. Her bow was her most prized possession, a mahogany bow made by our foster father with a patterned engarnment on the wood, and arrows made from flint from the forest and swan feathers that were more for fast flight and accuracy then pain. If she ever lost it, I don't think she would ever be the same again. "Okay." I said, sprinting off deeper into the forest. The army that comes to the houses always raids every nook and cranny, even the secret basement under the rug in the living room, so Kona always hid it in the forest in case a Requisition Alarm goes off. I got to the place she hides it, a large hollow tree, and gently placed the bow and arrows inside. People rarely go to this part of the woods because the hunt is bad, so nobody ever stumbled across their hiding place. I'm sure if they did, they would snag the bow immediately; it was probably worth enough food for a whole harvest. I looked at its patterned wood for a moment, thinking about this, then sped off to catch up with the others...
