My thoughts about murder.

With the new murder rolling out i get it there are gonna be some bugs and what not but from playing 5 games im disappointed with the way its come out. Aiming is very clonky, you can see peoples name through walls, when you die your entire game has to reload and many more. But in all honesty my biggest problem right now is that youre charging money for previous things that used to be free, and took away lots of helmets, and making us pay for a chest plate. im just disappointed all the way around. #fixmurder #revertmurder

Throughout testing, we’ve come across all of these bugs / issues and the Devs have corrected them to the best of their ability. You can view the change log of the things the testers have found in this thread here.
 
Not having your stuff is a bug that we are fixing as we speak. The other stuff like nametags they were brought back to stop people from just camping and adds a bit of urgency to the game. Aiming has been tweaked to make it so you have to actually hit the person rather than just rough point in their direction. When you die your entire game doesn't load its to allow the corpses which are now in 1.12.2 btw to load in. Your input is valuable though and we will fix any major issues asap since murder is top of the list at the moment.

The major issue with aiming is the fact it has a rng feel to it...

With the murder knife I'm not sure how that works or if its finished. The knife before worked a lot better and had some skill to it. The curve is gone which makes it a little meh for aiming as it doesnt make sense.

It feels hitscan to me almost but i havent been able to test much due to the fact i cant pick up emeralds in game as of right now ;p but thats what i think morphic was talking about

With regards to name-tags, surely players can just crouch to camp (unless you’ve implemented something). Plus, it’s literally impossible to get a gun when the murderer knows where you are. Surely you can add something which will add name tags when there’s say 60 second left of the game so that both the innocents (as they’ve most likely have gotten guns) have a chance to kill the murderer and the murderer has a chance to kill any other innocents?
If you can show gamer-tags when a player is crouching then you can stop camping at 60 seconds altogether? I have no idea if that’s possible.

This is just my opinion but having gamer-tags is such an advantage to the murderer, especially when they’ve killed the detective and especially because you can’t buy double emeralds any higher than 10% (unless that’s changed as I couldn’t last week). Plus the murderer is faster than the innocents, so they have nowhere to run with gamer-tags.

Crouching can only make the player go so far until the murderer finds where they are sneaking to or hiding. The detective is the main key in all of this. You know who they are right from the bat so head there and sneak near them until you find the murderer and are able to grab their gun or have one of your own. This is probally the best way to play for now.

Regards to hiding...
Before it was such a pain to find the last player. It made the game pretty bland as they usually were a good player with a v3+ gun. I don't like the nametags route as I do see it ruining the game's feel and feels incomplete. A better idea might be adding a breathing or heart meter where you can sense if someone is close or something. Saying " I am next to " might help but it wasnt a common thing people knew about. Adding a clear idea that is presented to the player will most certainly help them.
