I slowly put my stuff in my bag. I got up the dirty and dusty wood floor I used to call my bedroom. I'm being sent to live with my abusive mother, my grandma had just died. I miss her, although it has only been two days since she died. "Lilly?" My little sister walked into the empty apartment room. "C'mon, mummy's gunna be m-mad." She sniffed a bit. "It'll be okay, Surrender." Surrender was my nickname for her, her real name was Whisper. I call her Surrender because she always liked to surrender when I play games with her. "L-let's go now," I whispered. I took Surrender's hand and we walked silently to the beaten up truck in the parking lot. "What were you girls doing? A beauty contest?" Surrender stared at her with wide eyes. "Just get in, weirdo." Surrender got all teary-eyed. I got in first-just so she doesn't have to sit next to mom-and then she got in. Surrender closed the door gingerly and we put our suitcases behind out seats.
When we finally arrived-took five hours, no exaggeration!-I got into my room. It actually looked nice. Surrender peeked in. "Isn't your room down the hall?" I asked. She shook her head. "It's a bawth room, sissy." "Oh," I looked at the bed. A bunk bed. I've never shared a room before. We split the room. I put all my stuff in my cabinets. I put a picture of my grandma on it. *I want to be like you,* I thought. *A actress, and a singer.*
