Chapter 1: Basic
The sun shone through the window blinding me. I got out of bed and ran down the stairs, running as fast as i could, the bathroom in my sight. Boom, my brother ran in and slammed the door shut.
“Ugh, come on!” I screamed.
“Snooze you lose!” Josh screamed back.
I slumped into the kitchen with an annoyed look on my face. My mom turned around and looked at me with a smile.
Her smile dying, “What’s wrong?”
“Josh took the bathroom, and he knows that I have to leave before him,” I said with a furious tone.
“We really need to get you a bathroom in your room,” my mom told me in a quite tone, “maybe for your 16th birthday”
“My birthday is a century away,” stating as I sit down to eat my breakfast
My mom handed me a plate of eggs, “Your birthday is less than a month away, I think you will survive”
I rolled my eyes and stomped off into my room. Clothes on the floor, bed a mess; I pick up my room quickly and head to my closet to pick out my outfit for the day. I put on a white t-shirt and ripped jeans, sliding on my shoes, I grab my phone and see that I got a message from my friend Lila.
I quickly read through the message as I’m reaching for my backpack. I read the text and scream with excitement, dropping all my stuff and heading for my vanity. “shoot, I need to fix my hair,” I think. As I am grabbing my brush, my mom comes bursting in.
“Whats wrong?” my mom asks franticly.
“Nothing,” I say
“then what are you exited about?” she asks
“None of your beeswax,” I state as I quickly throw up my hair and put on a jacket
“you can’t hide everything from me, I’m your mother,”
I walk towards the door grabbing my stuff, “Well I don't have to tell you everything,” I walk out the door smiling, “bye, love you”
“Bye,” my mom yells back at me from my room
I run down the stairs and out the door, as i’m walking out the door something catches my attention. Their is a small box sitting on the porch steps, the box says Evelyn in big writing on the top. When I bend down to open it, my little brother walks out the door.
“dad said you have to take me to school,” Mikey yells at me.
“Liar, I don't have my drivers license,” I laugh, “have josh take you.”
Mikey slumps down and heads back inside. I start walking towards the bus stop.
“I’ll open this later,” I think as I shove the small box in my backpack. As I approach the bus stop, the bus comes riding to a stop and i walk on. The bus has never bothered me, it’s just that ever since my best friend Lila switched buses, I have just sat there and just played on my phone. As I walk onto the bus, I greet the bus driver with a smile and plop down into a random seat near the back. I decide to open the small box, as I lift the lid their is a small note. before I can read the note, my phone dings
Lila—don’t open the box
Me — why?
Lila — because it is a prank
Me— I already opened it
Lila— then put the lid back on and shove it in your bag
Me— ok
I close the box and shove it in my backpack
