As of lately, we have noticed quite a bit of lag, haven't we? Population has drastically declined and it's not because people don't want to play. It's because they can't even connect to the bloody server! I know it's a potentially difficult process to update the server, but that's not what this is about at all. Is there any sort of way to fix the server that everyone can agree with so we stop losing hundreds of people per day? The client is getting excessively worse and worse as the minutes drag on, and it's only a matter of time before not even the owner can connect. There has to be an easy fix to such problems, as a very slim number of servers are still having this issue. If updating is the only way to fix it, better sooner than later, but if there's another way to solve this apocalypse we need to employ such options right away! Any suggestions, people?:pz:

Lots of people are also becoming inactive for the same reason I am, exams. I don't exactly think that's the main reason. It's just rough for lots of people this time of year.

Well, on the subject of lag, there is a new and reoccurring issue with the lobby servers, where one lobby server will become extremely laggy, and then the network will be like "Oh Okay, lets throw everyone there." Due to the already slow tps, and the probable high load the lobby server has to deal with while in low tps, it may be too slow to actually process players in, much less support the lobby

Yeah, i agree with this. I know many people, including me, who are currently preparing and beginning they're exams. Piano, school, dance and all sorts of exams. So i dont think the lag is the main reason people are beginning to become inactive.

Also minecrafts population is decreasing recently, thanks to the new games rising in popularity like roblox.

I'm probably not correct, but an issue could be too many people in a lobby? And due to that, the chat gets blown up sometimes, which results in lag. I don't think this is a main reason for the lag, but it most likely has to do with something running the server (out of date or needed to be updated). I doubt I'm correct, but this could be useful somehow. I do agree this needs to be fixed, and hopefully the problem will be solved very soon. But for now, we need to do what we can do to stop as much lag as possible (maybe telling people to stop flooding chat or go to an empty lobby).
Chat doesn't cause main server lag as it runs asynchronously and seperate to the main server thread.

This is probably just down to the lobbies lagging out because they don't ever get restarted - which can be fixed at some point but the large majority of the development team are on breaks (including myself) due to exams/work/etc. along with a lot of the staff team so things probably won't be gotten to for a little while. If you can't ping the server either we're having host issues (which we've been having a lot recently) or it's a you problem.

Yeah it's exam period for a lot of us and it's getting to be in the midsts of Spring so more are going outside and doing different activities. People have been losing interest in Minecraft and the server by the day which will impact our counts - but that's just what humans do as they age: move on (and what we'll all have to do at some point)

Roblox was released in 2006, Minecraft Multiplayer (what's left of it) is just being dominated by the larger networks so the smol beans like us are being crushed. There's nothing we can do about it but continue to work with what we have and strive to keep our remaining players happy and loved until we eventually have to stop one day. By that time - most of us would have probably moved on anyway so it's not an issue.

I don't necessarily think that's the biggest reason. It's a huge reason, but not the biggest. Also, Roblox came out WAY before Minecraft did.

Yeah i know, i worded it incorrectly, excuse me.
But roblox, has recently over taken minecraft in popularity. Also,
We know exams are taking up a lot of time rn.
And sadly, minecraft is growing out of interest.
Lag issues is a reason, but in all honesty, not the biggest.

Plus, even bigger servers are going through the same issue, and they're servers aren't that laggy.
Plus if the server was getting that laggy, no one would be online and the staff team would've had it fixed ages ago, most likely.
(Note~ i have corrected my wording in my previous message.)
