The door slammed shut behind him. Bennett reached for the small hook on the top of his backpack as his arm went over his shoulder, to pull his bag up. As he walked down the corridoor, he kept his head down, despite all the kids making all the noise, getting ready for school.
Then he went around the corner to get to the stairs. That's where everything began.
Bennett's eyes opened to see a boy with rosy cheeks and blonde hair with navy dip-dye staring down at him.
"TH-THANK GOODNESS! YOU'RE AWAKE!" He shook Bennett. He'd been sitting by him since he'd blacked out. A girl behind the boy who had blonde hair. She smiled at Bennett. She then turned to the boy.
"I told you not to be worried! It was only a bump on the head!" She smiled at him and then helped Bennett up.
"Uhhh.. What happened, exactly?" Bennett rubbed the back of his head. He wore the same school uniform as them.
She rubbed the back of her head too.
"I came round the corner and bumped in to you, I'm sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going." She put her hand out. "I'm Iris." She smiled friendily and tilted her head.
"A-And I'm Mikaela! (mee-kI-la) I-It's nice to meet you!" He did a traditional japanese bow thingy.
DING-DONG-BING-BONG
"Th-That's the school bell..!" Mikaela grabbed his hair in panic.
"Come on!" Iris grabbed Bennett and Mikaela's hands and dragged them down the stairs, both of them falling down a few times, but Iris kept grabbing them back up.
They ran out the door and said goodbye to Marline, the receptionist at the orphanage, they then ran along a few streets away. Past a few posters which Mikaela kept stopping to look at, but Iris kept dragging him away from them without looking at them herself.
They arrive at the school. Bennett falls on his hands and knees and lies flat-out on the floor.
"...H-How do you run so fast?!" Bennett slowly got up. Iris puffed and panted while resting on her knees, while Mikaela vomited in the bushes.
Iris looked over at him. "..I know you get motion sick but it can't be that bad!" She turned back to Bennett and stood up.
"I'm sorry about that.. It's his first day, He's my.. little brother." She rubbed the back of her head.
"It's alright - really; thank you for getting me to school on time." Bennett smiled. "Bennett - That's my name. I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier."
"It's fine! I like that name! I guess I'll be seeing you in class?" She looked at Mikaela -who was still puking in the bushes- again.
"Sure."
DING-DONG-BING-BONG
"Homeroom.. Ok, I'll see you in class!" She waved to him as all the other kids went inside. She looked back at Mikaela where he was finishing up. She went over to see him.
And that's where this part ends.
