What are 'Konami Codes' as I hear such people talking about?

"Konami codes" are essentially 'cheat codes' that unlock hidden easter eggs. The context you're hearing about them in is small easter eggs hidden on some people's profiles. An example of this is going to gigosaurus' profile and pressing the following buttons; Up up down down left right left right B A.
