This might be a bit confusing but stick with me:
Admins or Moderators could upload videos of doing complicated things on the network like:
  • Downloading and running TeamSpeak
  • Posting on the forum
  • Creating accounts
  • Editing forum accounts
  • Moving though the server
I came up with this idea by helping someone download and run TeamSpeak. It's hard to understand and show people what to do when you can't see their screen, so instead of having go though what to do step-by-step, you could send the video links. This would be helpful for moderation staff or regular players when staff are not present.
Why you might be skeptical:
  • There are guides on the forum already! Some people do better seeing things being done than screenshots and instructions.
  • It's not necessary! I beg to differ. Some staff might struggle with explaining things and some people might be visual learners.
Thanks for reading!

I actually think this is a relatively good idea, I know a lot of people actually find certain guides hard to understand and ask for guidance from staff members, who are unable to explain any better than the guides themselves. A visual screening of how to do this would be especially helpful and easier for a lot of players to understand.

Unless a stronger opinions arises, personally, I will be voting +1!

I think this is a good idea, especially for all of that complicated forum stuff. There could be a video that shows people how to do things such as:

  • Create Forum accounts and linking them to your Minecraft account.
  • Edit Personal Details, such as your Bio, Location, and Signature.
  • Edit Profile, such as user avatars, profile banners, and profile colors.
  • Create and Edit threads, and how to post (and edit your posts) on existing threads.
  • Download Discord/TeamSpeak and get hooked up with the PartyZone server.
Maybe some of these ideas could be merged, but I think that, in this case, having smaller nuggets of information in videos would be more useful to users, so they don't have to go watch a 12-minute video about everything related to the PartyZone forums.

Once again, great idea! Thanks for the suggestion. I do have a question, though -- where would these videos be posted?

Probably the official pz YouTube channel, which is very inactive at the moment, but does indeed exist- to my knowledge.

Awesome. I think that's a great idea, and maybe a link should be made readily available on the forums and through in-game welcome messages. There could even be a command that gives the player a link to the playlist of Help Videos, like /pzhelp or something.

I agree with Jules on this, I'm still having trouble navigating TeamSpeak as it's pretty confusing. A how-to video would really help me.

And I learn things better when they are in video form, not screenshots and pictures.

+1 from me!

Thank you guys!

Yes, that was the idea :)

I was thinking that the videos would be posted on the YouTube and a link would be included in some of the guides for ease of access.

I think this is beneficial to all visual learners. It ensures a deeper understanding instead of screenshots & text. This would also be some handy work for people who work with the PartyZone youtube.

I also believe that there should be an Insights sub-team dedicated to this. I've seen this 'Meraki Zone' go around and if this does get implemented then I think it'll be necessary to make it a sub-team, @Etgar.

All in all, my opinion is a +1.

While I’d love for that to happen, I feel it would be best giving this responsibility to an already existing team (possibly the stream team), or just finding players from Insights as a whole. The subteams we currently have operate on doing things frequently, the media team requires people to do tweets and posts regularly, the event team needs people to help plan and host events, and the design team needs people to create graphics regularly. Having a team for this would only allow those people in the team to create a video for this every so often, as there are only so many tutorials and guides that can be made. While yes, I would like that to happen, it’s just not realistic as we already have the stream team that can easily take that responsibility on without the need for another team. Insights as a whole may be better as we would have many different people to make these videos, and due to the large amount of people, it would likely get done more efficiently.

I do love the idea, a +1 from me.
