Gigosaurus POV-
Tap tap...
The sound of my keyboard was the only thing that was normal in my room. The noise bounced off my walls, disappearing into the darkness. I never opened my curtains. I barely leave my room. I just... Stay here, on my laptop.
I heard footsteps outside my door, No... I thought, Not for me, not for me... Go away...
My door opened, I hissed, blinking as the light from the hallway burned my eyes.
My mum tutted, "Honey, you're like a vampire cooped up this hobbit hole. How many times have I told you to get off that darn computer."
I gasped, "Mum. This computer is everything to me. It holds my precious server..."
"If that's what's precious to you, you need to get out. There's more to life than looking at a computer screen, Gigo honey." She replied.
I hissed, air clawing at her.
She ignored me, "You used to be such a lovely boy. You would always play outside, be social."
I snorted, "I do plenty of exercise."
"Running to the fridge and back to your computer doesn't count."
I turned back to my computer, tapping a reply to someone.
"Baby, it's not healthy to be doing this. I don't even understand how it's exciting for you." Mum gestured to my screen.
"Mum, just because you lived when you had to have rocks and sticks as toys doesn't mean I have to. Plus, this is awesome. I get to talk with people all day. See this girl here? Her name is Dizzy. She's pretty fabulous. I don't talk to her much because I don't want her to know I like her."
My mum opened up my door completely, letting in more light. She ignored what I said and looked around my room. I could see the disappointment in her eyes even though I wasn't watching her.
"Honey, why have you got bottles all around your room?" She picked up one of my old coke bottles. "This doesn't even look like coke." I froze, turning around in my chair.
I laughed forcefully, "Okay that's enough Gigo time for today." I stood up out of my chair and arched up to her, dragging her by her wrist out of my room. "Nice meeting you mum, come back tomorrow!"
I slammed the door behind her, sighing in relief. The darkness envelopped me again. The brightness of the screen beckoned me towards it, like a moth to a flame.
