Yesterday I more or less lost a friend.
This is in real life, not on Minecraft, whether that's worse or not that's up to you.
I'd been friends with her for almost three years (We became friends in Year 8, I'm in Year 11 currently).
We very close in Year 8 and if I hadn't of become friends with her then, I wouldn't be friends with some people now.
The reason why we're no longer friends is because we drifted.
It was a slow and gradual drifting but the drifting's done and we're basically no longer friends.
I would want to still call her my friend but I never see her so I might as well say we're no longer friends.
But what I hate the most about this is because I knew.
Deep down I knew our friendship was never going to last.
Now she no longer sits at our table, now she talks to her other friends, now I don't think we'll be in touch anymore.
She was definitely one of my closest friends and I'm sad to see her go.
But we're just not that similar anymore.
She is loud and outgoing.
I am the shyest person you'll ever meet.
She is indie and no longer listens to Paramore.
I prefer rock and listen to Paramore.
She is becoming/is popular.
I have only six friends.
This isn't just me who lost her as a friend. Everyone on my table at lunch and break has lost her.
As we stayed together in our awkwardness, she has thrived and made many friends.
I'm not saying she shouldn't be making friends, I'm just saying that be careful, you could lose some of your closest friends.
I don't think there is a way to revive the friendship, we're not in any of the same classes and we haven't been for two years.
Now I sit here, typing in the dark, wanting to tell you.
If you think you're drifting with a friend, one you truly care for.
Hold tight, don't let them go.
Thank you for reading.
