DizzyBonnett POV-
"Dizzy Bonnett!" The name was called out, clearly, in the deathly silence. No one spoke. No one volunteered. No one moved. My name. My name was called out, chosen, out of all the others. Out of the hundreds of other teenagers.
Robotically, I moved towards the podium.
There was one person. Perhaps they... No...
I struggled to pull in deep breaths, trying to simultaneously run as far away as possible from the middle. It was harder than I'd trained for; the bumpy terrain making me stumble, the moist air making my hair stick to my face, my heavy pack pulling me down. I dodged through the wide tree trunks, jumping over the thick foliage.
Minutes ran by until I stumbled upon a thin stream, cutting a crevice into the land. I collapsed onto a nearby rock, leaning my forehead onto the cool stone. My throat was burning and I thought I could taste blood but I wasn't sure. I couldn't waste time resting though, and waited a few more seconds before pulling off my backpack.
I unzipped it and pulled out it's contents, keeping an ear out if anyone came close. A black water bottle, a small packet of dry crackers, a box of raisins and... A gold nugget? I stare incredulously at it, wondering how it will be useful.
Shoving the items but the water bottle into the bag, I swung the backpack over my shoulders before unscrewing the lid.
I dipped the top of the bottle into the river, letting the water flow in. I wondered if it was poisoned.
I stared at the water skeptically before shrugging, if the water was poisoined, it would be a less painful death than if I came across one of the careers, like that Jack fellow or Teodor. I remember seeing them on the television for their interviews. Jack had played a cool, mysterious type and Teodor was acting quiet. I could tell both of them were vicious and was proved correct when I saw them in the training room. Though from different Districts, they both hit it off at once and trained together. I wouldn't be suprised if they were a team..
EmoBrendan, the guy who was obsessed with a girl from his district. I remember him bringing her flowers in the training room. Unfortunately, she broke out in hives which gave her a body rash and white spots.
Aventasaurus, I think this guy was a bit mad... I remember him coming up to me in the training room. We spoke a bit. He kept talking about this thing... A dragon? I'm not too sure.
Fairy, I remember her when I was watching the play backs and saw her name get taken out of the bowl. I only remember her for her name. It makes me wonder again... In another lifetime... Would we have been friends?
Mineinprogress, that weird dude who kept eating all the pizza in the hall... I never got to taste any because of him...
Many more follow up, but my eye lids droop and I rest my head against the soft earth...
Precious item? I fondled the gold nugget I kept in my pocket, my finger sliding over the smooth grooves. I wonder who's it is...
It was a male, brown hair hair that was plastered around his head. He looked terrifying... Or terrified. His eyes were wide and he was shaking the knife in his hand. The point of the blade was staring straight at me.
"Wha..." He breathed. "What item did you get?"
No weapon. I had nothing to defend myself. I pulled out the gold nugget slowly from my pocket. I rolled it into the center of the palm of my hand, making it easy to see.
His eyes became wide, and he opened his mouth again, "Hand it o-"
The sound of a snapping branch broke us from our conversation and we snapped our heads towards the source of the noise. Two pairs of eyes stared straight at us. A team.
I took in a deep breath and blindly grabbed at something on the floor, my finger picked at something, a rock. Before anyone could take a step, I swung the rock in my hand, hiting the closest tribute in the face. A crunch then a thump could be heard as the body fell, unconscious. The second looked at the first, then scrambled away, leaving the other in its midst. I jumped forward before the other guy could do anything and grabbed the unconscious tributes weapon, an iron axe. I lifted up the axe, staring threateningly at the guy who was still holding up the knife. He slowly put down his weapon on the floor, raising both his hands.
"The name's Fox. Nice to meet you." he said.

Bright lights. Colourful clothing. Fake smiles. Rich food. The Capitol was a nightmare, and there was no one there to save me.There was one person. Perhaps they... No...

Pant. I struggled to pull in deep breaths, trying to simultaneously run as far away as possible from the middle. Boom. Boom. Two canons go off, sounding the death of two tributes. I wonder who they are... I wonder if their families are watching... Or crying... Or hiding away in their houses. I wonder if they know their child is dead... I wonder...~
Watching from my hole under a bush, through the bushy leaves, I watch the sky. A big white square shines bright, reflecting faces of tributes who have fallen. I knew most of their names, recognizing them in some way or another from something they did.EmoBrendan, the guy who was obsessed with a girl from his district. "As many of you have noticed, there has been a slight confusion." A deep voice boomed around the area, President Gigosaurus. "In your packs, there is an item. An item, which is precious to someone else in the arena. If you find them, you can keep your item. Good luck."Precious item? I fondled the gold nugget I kept in my pocket, my finger sliding over the smooth grooves. I wonder who's it is...

"Stop." I firm voice drifted out from a cluster of trees. I froze in my tracks, turning my eyes to the source of the noise. It was a male, brown hair hair that was plastered around his head. Some would say it's a weird way to meet your boyfriend. Others would say it's romantic. I'm not sure what I think, I'm just glad I met him.~
