This was a mistake.
This shouldn't have happened.
The blood-red moon cast streaks of crimson light onto the bits of dead undergrowth below. Darkness oozing from the ground threatened to consume my soul and convert me into one of them. Not a single sound of prey scuttling through the ground or even a gentle breeze broke the everlasting silence of the seemingly empty forest around me.
I don't understand how my Clanmates saw me as a threat. I never meant to murder the leader, yet most of them saw my act as traitorous. They all conspired against me. They got rid of me the only way they knew how -- terminate my life. Not even StarClan had the mercy to accept me into their ranks.
I didn't deserve this.
The once silent forest was now emitting soft but chilling chuckles from corrupted souls that had been damned to this eternal darkness like I would soon be. One by one, pairs of eyes of all sorts of shades appeared from the depths of the forest, each one staring at me, waiting for my next move. I was left standing there while my soul was slowly but surely being dragged down into a bottomless abyss, snatching away what little sanity I had left in me.
'Someone save me!' I called out in my mind. 'Get me out of this nightmare!'
The eerie laughter grew louder, echoing through the leafless trees and deeper into the depths of the darkness. I could see several transparent figures of all colors and patterns materializing all around me, cuts and bruises all over their pelts, a few of which were still dripping blood onto the lifeless ground beneath their paws. All of them had their jaws parted in a chilling laugh, which sent shivers through my spine.
The mysterious cats slowly advanced on me, leaving me with nowhere to go. My tail was tucked beneath my belly, and my icy-blue optics were fearfully watching every pawstep they took. The laughter continued growing louder, loud enough to drive any cat insane.
One cat stood out above all the others, sporting a brown tabby pelt and intimidating amber eyes. Dozens of scars and unhealed wounds were clearly visible on top of his muscular build. Said cat strides ever closer to me, his eyes never leaving mine, and his bloodstained muzzle curled into an evil smile.
'W-What's going on?!'
The brown tabby stopped in front of me, nose-to-nose, seemingly staring into my very conscience. I could not find the confidence to move away from the cat's intimidating glare, leaving me frozen in place. He slowly opened his jaws, and almost instantly, the metallic stench of blood hit my nostrils. His entire set of needle-sharp teeth were painted crimson, from the back molars to the front canines. I gulped.
I felt myself get knocked down on the dusty floor, and I couldn't help but let out a frightened yelp. My eyes trailed upwards to see that one of the cat's paws are keeping me down, claws unsheathed. By now, his jaws were open as far as they would go, his eyes giving away no emotion. My heart stopped as I realized what was about to occur.
'StarClan help me.'
The tabby's muzzle dived down and sunk its teeth deep into my throat, spilling blood all over the ground and all over my paws. I swung my eyes shut and howled to the stars, feeling my body and soul succumb to the darkness it was being enclosed in and whatever was left of my sanity dispersing. The cats around me laughed as I screamed for this torture to stop.
No... no... no...
He gently let go of my throat and backed away slowly, drops of crimson forming into a pool between us. My eyes fluttered open, expecting to be erased from existence. The strange thing was, I was still here, and I felt nothing at all. The laughter died down, and the forest was once again as silent as the calmest lake.
I slowly brought myself onto all four paws, my ice-blue optics staring at my reflection in the pool of blood surrounding my now blood soaked paws. I let my claws unsheathe slowly. Apart from the fresh blood flowing out of my throat, my body felt empty. I felt like nothing.
I let out a soft chuckle.
I let out another.
I let out a few more.
And then I burst into a maniacal laughter, my voice slurred and, how other cats would describe, insane. My once fear-filled optics were now giving away the cat I now was: a truly murderous monster. One by one, all of the other cats joined in, until all of our voices were bouncing off of the dead trees of the forest and deeper into the depths of the darkness.
I was now damned to this fate like they were.
And there's no going back.

Just a little story I came up with on a Warrior Cats app. A lot of people took an interest in it, so I thought you might as well!
The picture above came with the story, as well, since I like creating the feel of a story.
Thanks for reading!
