So as some of you developers/coders know, CraftBukkit, the minecraft server API, has been closed down due to a DMCA copyright strike issued by Mr Wolf (aka Wolverness), a previous contributor to Bukkit and CraftBukkit alike. He issued the strike because CraftBukkit was using a chunk of his code that was licensed under the GPL license which states: Any code that has this license can only be used and manipulated by someone else who's code has this license. Since CraftBukkit uses some of Mojang's server code that is NOT licensed under the GPL code license, CraftBukkit was taken down due to legal problems regarding this. CraftBukkit was a great software and was good for creating servers to people who were new to Java. I'm sad to see it go and it doesn't look like there are many solutions for this strike and CraftBukkit might be doomed.
