I untied my apron and set it up on the hook.
"Bye, Uni. See you tomorrow!" I said goodbye to my boss and left the bakery: Uni's Hot Buns.
I jogged my way down the roads, hoping to get back to the dorms before they shut. I passed the bushes, then the gates of my college and all the way up to my dorm building. I put my hands on my knees and took a breather, huffing and puffing.
I nearly missed closing time; I looked at my watch 8:57pm.
I pulled my card out and swiped it, opening up the door. I thought about taking the lift, but chose the stairs anyway, taking 3 steps at a time.
When I reached the 4 floor, I headed down the right corridor, up to room 13.
I pulled out my keys and unlocked the door, heading in.
"Caitlyn?" I shouted out to my roommate.
"In here." I heard a voice reply, coming from the lounge. I set the keys on the table before heading towards the lounge room.
I walked in and sighed.
Booneh was back. And sitting on Caitlyn's lap.
Caitlyn was gently stroking the back of his neck when she looked up at me.
"Hey Avent. How was work?"
"It was fine." I growled, glaring at Booneh. He glared right back.
You see, Booneh and I don't really like each other. If it weren't for Caitlyn, he would never come around.
I could see his teeth starting to show before I looked away. Stupid idiot. All bark, no bite.
I looked back at Caitlyn, she was starting to give Booneh a little back rub.
I glared at her, "Can you stop that? You know how much that annoys me."
Caitlyn grinned at me. I stepped towards her and Booneh slid off her lap, trying to increase the distance between us.
I sat next to Caitlyn and she took me in her arms, my face going into the crook in her neck. I glared; I felt like a baby when she did this.
She pulled me away again, before coming close and lightly pecking my lips.
She laughed and pulled away again, "I can't believe you're jealous of a cat."
