I just wanted to post this message talking about the internet. It's currently going through an issue. Many methods of tracking are being implemented into websites. Fingerprinting, scripts & trackers + more. With the fact that your ISP can now sell your information to anyone. (In America, unsure about other parts of the world). This is pretty much a warning to let you guys know to protect your identity online. I have an extension that blocks most of the threats that occur. It lets me know if a site has it. Be careful guys, stay safe.

What's the extension called?

Also, good message.

I can't really say as it could be classified as advertising. If you have some sort of way to contact me (Discord, Twitter etc.) I'd be glad to let you know. My Discord is Array#8287 if you'd like to contact me or there, or you can contact me on my Twitter (Check my signature)

okay thanks

I'm not even rich? It's a free extension. I find it rude that you decide to come to a thread and post something that isn't even true.

Also you shouldn't be posting that in a thread that is talking about something serious that is currently going on in society
i was joking its a gif calm down

i know fine well about being safe online i was just lightening the mood im not making fun of anything.

There's really no need to do that. The thread is a serious topic about the fact that you can be tracked and your information can be leaked. I wouldn't be postings gifs and memes.

Where'd you hear of this?

I've kept up with news. If you've checked the new with the ISPs in America you'd understand what I'm talking about. For the scripts & trackers, it was pretty obvious. But for fingerprinting, I learned it from the extension. Fingerprinting is when you grab the user's information using their web browser.

We havn't had this news in Britain, unless it's coming. But we've had a lot of news about things online before so

Tracking is nothing really new, it might not be in the news or just maybe covered lightly. Just steer clear of shady sites.

How did this happen? Was this just recent?
I'm not sure why an ISP would ever sell client info but this implies that there's easier access to a client's personal information therefore making it more vulnerable to hackers and such, no? That's scary.

Just never click things that go, FREE 1000$ or "download". also read when you download things that download stuff, like skype, it tries to make you make bing your browser

It's not really just because of shady sites. I've noticed that the sites that are HTTPs secured like google, youtube etc. are using fingerprinting and scripts and trackers. It's insane to think that the sites you know are tracking you.

Read the message above this quote.

For the UK, I'm not that sure. Pretty sure they do in fact track you but they're strictly forbidden from selling your private information.
