Avatar for forums thing

ok so i really want a picture for the pic thing on the forums and every time i try one it doesn't work, is this a bug that can or can't be fixed?

I tried with my computer images but it kept saying about an error
I fixed this problem by setting up a gravatar account and then my image was then accepted for my avatar image
