I don't know.
I have just submitted mine but I will try and ask a staff member to answer this

I'm not too sure, but it should send you a notification in the box top right. I think it depends on what your alert settings are, you can change those somewhere on your profile.

Nope.

What ahm pretty sure happens is you submit the application, staff takes a look at it and votes, and you get a notification in the top right corner. Click on it, and you'll see if your application was accepted or rejected
