Elite survival is a "premium" area. There are no benefits that carry between elite survival and the rest of the network - only cosmetic items such as your rank, which the EULA allows.

Soon all games will have shops and use the same currency, so that upgrade was too unbalanced as it would allow you to farm coins very easily relative to the new gamemodes.
