so far i am enjoying it, but after skimming through the manga i feel like the avatar arc is completely pointless; it feels like a story that would be at the very start of the series

The Avatar Arc was very short imo, but I think it's still got some sort of purpose on their new journey to rebuild Fairy Tail c:
