What type of dog are you getting?

When petting or hugging dogs, make sure you don't look "above" them. They tend to get scared if you pet them while looking down on them. Slowly kneel down and let them sniff you before petting them. Dogs are very friendly and forgiving animals so don't let fear get in the way of making friends with 'em.
