I tagged three staff, yes they were admins, but staff, no matter what role, are expected to be active on the forums and theres a few that do their job well and actually are active and talk to the players, and then theres the others that just do their job and arent really active on here.
Sorry, but lately theres been a lot of harsh bans going on. I got warned for 'ignoring staff' when i was stopping a person from accusing a player of being sexist. The kid was being stupid and i told them to stop multiple times. What did staff do to help? They warned me. The kid just carried on and the staff let them. Thr kid then sent me a message saying "karma" so im not happy about it.
Administration staff aren't required to be active on the forums and have been excplicitly told by the staff manager not to partake in moderation duties unless they have received proper training by the staff manager.
I can understand why you're feeling frustrated over the bans, if you feel like they weren't warranted you can make a ban appeal and the staff member that banned you will provide evidence and explanation as to why you were banned. If you believe the evidence and explanation aren't sufficient, you may make a staff abuse appeal or PM a senior mod and they will deal with the issue
This has happened to practically everyone. 'Greifing' was one block. 'Ignoring staff' is doing a better job than they are. 'Mini-modding' is doing a better job than they are. Yet staff punish us for practically helping them. Punishment appeals dont help either. The amount of excuses ive seen staff make to keep us banned is disgusting tbh
I agree, most ban reason/warning reasons are ridiculous. If say in Creative there was someone swearing and spamming, and there was no moderation we have to do something to stop it, but you see staff don't want us to ''mini mod'' so we can't do anything to stop what the person is doing.
Staff don't (or at least shouldn't be) punishing players for mini-modding as it has been brought up many times and they understand that the players are helping with good interests in mind. Staff however don't like it because not only is it rather disrespectful by
insinuating they aren't capable of handling the situation themselves, but also that it drags on situation and causes (more) arguments in chat and more people involve themselves and the situation gets messy.
Actual punishments are brought in when you are trying to help as staff are reigning in the situation to keep it from spiralling out of control, as they would have previously verbally asked you to stay out of it. Not only that but a lot of stuff goes on behind the scenes that you aren't aware of, such as the punishments the perpetrators of the incidents are receiving.
I understand where you are all coming from and what goals you're trying to achieve but I don't believe you're going about it the right way. Your points are rather attacking and I feel like it causes more harm than good
If i were you, I would make a post and call out the server. Yes, the server. Don't accept "oh well maybe they had a rough day" or "well we all have our opinions" or even the notorious "idk what youre talking about" (when they really know full well) answers from staff.
Cause honestly, kids are moderating at this point. Kids have the ability to turn on "maturity mode" for a day to get past the application and interview. I've seen it. (i've even tried it, i know the old tricks) They waltz into the rank and are hypersensitive and over reactive to one block broken, non-ranks doing a better job than the staff themselves, and a person saying "hell". I hate it.
