^ The answer to this question gave me the justification to create this suggestion as I have been thinking about it for quite some time. It seems like the chat restrictions are just getting more and more extreme as time goes on. I was staff for a large part of a year, and during said time these aforementioned chat restrictions did not exist. I'm not sure if this question was misunderstood by Kirstree- but in no way do I see "mother muffin" or "mother truckin" to be inappropriate. I don't think they are a direct attempt to evade the chat filter but a common decency to the younger player base by avoiding using the inappropriate words. I'm sure you would rather people saying either of those than their inappropriate counterparts. If these are now punishable, why are lmao, wtf, and other commonly used abbreviations not punishable? To my recollection, nothing along the lines of substituting an appropriate word for an inappropriate word has been disallowed in the history of this server. Abbreviations used to be disallowed, but that ceased a while ago- so why is this being added back in? If this was in fact added, I think that a public announcement regarding players' chat permissions should be shown because if someone was new to the server, came on, and said "mother truckin" and got warned- I highly doubt they would stay on the server. In no way do I mean to question the authority of the staff team, I just wanted to shed some light on this issue and hear from other sources. I hope this can be resolved as soon as possible.

agree, if wtf and lmao and other abbreviations are allowed why can't mother muffin and mother truckin be, they're harmless

I completely agree, mother muffin is a harmless statement and hardly implies anything. Mother trucking or mother muffin is obviously better than saying the other choice that could have been said. Chat restrictions have gotten way to strict now a days and it is starting to just drive more and more people away from pz. If I were to say "Mother muffin" in chat, I could be referring to a muffin as my mother. I feel as staff views the term with a negative meaning, which is ridiculous. The term was originally an inside joke between me and my friends, but right when I bring it up on PZ is when it is shut down and looked at as an inappropriate statement. Also, it isn't just the terms stated above that are taken too strict, apparently saying other words such as "weeds" is considered inappropriate. There are obviously plenty of other meanings to this word. Weeds are the little plants you see growing in your garden. I am by no means questioning your rules, but only justifying the people that have gotten in trouble for saying these things.

I agree. I'm not agreeing because Arujann is a friend of mine, I'm agreeing because I strongly agree with this suggestion post. If you're hoping to have players stick around to the server, then the rules shouldn't be so harsh. Mother muffin... really? You're going to warn for someone saying mother muffin but not lmao or wtf? that's wrong imo. We used to call my friend Muffin's mom "Mother Muffin" and now it's punishable? Coming from an ex-staff member for nearly 2 years, the rules/punishments have definitely gotten more extreme as time's gone on and maybe that's why we've seen a massive decrease in player count recently. For me at least, if I were to get punished for saying something as silly as mother muffin, i would quit the server (as previously said above).

This thread should be brought to the Leadership Team (mainly @Kirstree, since she's the one who responded to this question) and Administration Team for further discussion and clarification.

I personally think that we should allow it as we allow other words with changes in them such as "what the fudge".

I do however wish to point out that if you've been specifically told by a staff member, the staff manager no less, not to use the word, then repeating it over is not the best way to get your point across.

The fact that this thread has to exist, excluding a few good ones, @PrisonBop is right about PZ staff.

once i got forum banned for making a report and having "lmfao" in it.
"what the fudge".
if this is allowed, things like "mother trucker" or "fork you" should be as well.

LMAO yes it's so dumb

it's kinda ridiculous tbh
we get it, it's family-friendly
somehow kids are going to get exposed to this language anyway and in modern times, people use it in everyday life, well they atleast use a 'watered-down' version as you could put it. somehow, everyone will hear this language anyway, maybe in school, at home, at a store. just adding more restrictions doesn't exactly help, either way people are going to hear this language. I think the actual words should be restricted, but abreveations or other verions (ex; mother trucker, mother muffin (like @MamaMiia used) should be allowed. espically things like 'wtf' 'what the fudge', in real life, people use these things everyday, most minecraft servers do have chat filters, but people always bypass it, espically on bigger servers.

okay yay time for beddDDD

why did i spend 5 minutes typing this out and wasting my life on nothing

As long as it's not directed at someone, which is already a rule under rudeness, replacement words should not be against any rules.

Honestly depends on what way you use the word. If you mean to bypass the filter then it should be the punishment or if you say it to not bypass the filter then it shouldn't be punished. Yet that's completely up to staff which could be biased based on how they see things differently. Yet do we want 9 year olds to be saying *any bypassing word here" to someone at school or anyone? This is pretty hard to give a straight answer since it's based on staff opinions and the server does have around 8 to 20 year olds.

saying mother muffin or mother truckin isn't bypassing it though, we are allowed to say wtf, lmao and others but we cant say mother muffin?? and the server allows what the fudge and more so i don't understand why we aren't allowed to say this

I wasn't making a argument :/ just stating that it's a hard topic to sort out.
1. Pz's age group
2. Staff are biased to these phases because of different point of views.
3. And the list can go on...

Simply allowing it is nice and all yet what will the effect be? Will it even change? I'm not picking any side here since it's more of a server topic not a people topic. Does the server want to be kid friendly or change its meaning for kid friendly.

i wasnt making an argument either lol

I agree as well, if such words like wtf and others can be spoken of on PartyZone, I believe saying mother muffin is as harmless as a moth.

And as of the situation of what you disclose as hard to figure out, TimeLord. It is very simple. If the staff team allows us to say terms like wtf than why not mother muffin. If anything, saying mother muffin is good! You can be thanking your mothers muffins. We aren't breaking any rules as I know because, one, both words mother and muffin are the farthest away you can get from cursing. And two, it's just an adorable word. So as I will agree with many on this topic, it is not hard to figure out, and it is not a bad word to say.

You can't "mean to bypass the filter" by saying muffin, according to the official server rules- bypassing the chat filter is replacing letters with symbols, other letters, or numbers. In no way does "muffin" or "truckin" correspond to a swear word and often I hear younger kids say things similar to that. It should not be based on staff opinions, it should be based on what the server rules say- sure they can be put up to interpretation but there's a line that can be drawn where something is not violating any rule no matter which side you look at it- this being one of those cases.

I miss Muffin, and everyone else :(
I LOVE YOU MORPHY!!
