General Friends/Message Command

This probably is a stupid idea, but it's worth a shot.
I'd like a /message command that could send a message to my entire online friends list, because it's a pain to message them one by one if you need to tell them all something. Like I said, stupid idea, but why not to be honest.

Do you mean like sending out a mass message? Cause if so, +1, it could be useful if you want to say hi to people or ask something I guess.
 
Ok, first off,

The developers would have the edit the command /message. If they did that, how would I be able to message me friend 1-by-1?

Secondly,

This is a major reason to why its a -1. This can cause so much spam, especially if you're a rank with unlimited friends. Oh god, I send a message to all my friends and boom, I might wanna quit the server because of all the spam. Ouch

Granted I, again, would never use it, There might be some people who need to do that and if people spam everyone on their friends who's online, /friend remove. /ignore

I like this idea, I think it would be very handy but maybe have it so it doesn't message the staff members on your friend list.
 
Instead of the friend message, maybe when you message people, you could separate the username with a comma to show that you want to send it to more than one person. (/message LovelyBones_, AaronXxXx, LemonHowlter)

Kay, I wrote this early in the morning before my brain began functioning, but what I meant was:

I like it. Maybe the command could be like /friendmsgall (msg)

I personally wouldn't use this command.
Obviously you have a maximum of characterts, and you would still have to type out each username per person, unless that player is online (then you could use tab), lets not forget you also want to type to message, I think maximum you would probably be able to message 3-6 people at a time depending on your message.
With this idea I don't think it would work with the original thread and their idea.

I do agree with this point as spam would be caused by messaging a large group of people at a time, let's not forget players could abuse this command and spam all the players on their friend list.

A few solutions I did think of were:
  • A command to turn off group messages, for example there is /nomsg for private messages, maybe there could be a command similar to this.
  • Players could remove the friend who is currently spamming them, they always have the option to report if so. [Though a con is that some players don't have forum accounts to report players on]
  • As well they can /ignore a player if they are currently spamming them.

Currently I am leaning towards -1 on this idea/thread, but I am going to remain neutral until further ideas/improvements are made. I do like the original idea, and as I said though I may never use it, other players would.

This is a good idea however it could get in the way if you didn't know someone was on your friend list and it could be someone kind of like personal I guess? So this has good and bad so I'm staying neutral -/+0

"First, off"
The developers will only need to add a command instead of editing it.
He's saying that if it's possible to add a /message all so only one message will be sent out to all of his friend's list.

My friends are already on the server, and at least 2 people per hour come on the server and say hi too me.
I kind of get the point of those 10 people who come on after Server Restart and spam hi to each and every friend, but I disagree with you.

+1 for me.
